Beijing Forbidden City Great Wall of China in Beijing Temple of Heaven in Beijing

Welcome you to visit Beijing Bug Website and your advice to our service is appreciated.

If you have taken a taxi here in Beijing chances are you heard this Chinese syntax English. Let's face it - living and traveling in China is not easy at all. Getting around, shopping, Going out, sightseeing, ordering food, and even communicating with local people, all these can be quite a challenge when you first set foot in China. This website is dedicated to the city of Beijing since usually it is the point of origin for any journey in China. Whether you came here to work, or to study, or even for just short vacation we are sure you will find this website useful.

Why did we build this website?

Traveling to Beijing and China in general is becoming more and more popular. Tourism is a very important part of China's economy and therefore China is relatively developed in that field. The bad news is that all this development was mainly designed for domestic tourism which is still much greater. This means that although China is welcoming western tourists, the local taxi drivers, waiters and the average person over the age of 30 can barely speak English. Also most of the English signs are badly phrased and shift from funny to incomprehensible.

Most people coming to China for the first time follow their traveling guidebook step by step and consequently miss out on the real Chinese experience - the food (real Chinese food comes from a Chinese menu), sightseeing (visiting only places mentioned in the guidebook) and so on.

Only after leaving Beijing and traveling in China for more than a couple of weeks people starting to open up and get the courage to try new things, but that means they didn't make the most of their starting point, which is usually Beijing. It's very easy to understand why this happen, most people feel that a place you visit for the first time and don't speak the language is not the ideal place for wondering and experimentation.

The purpose of this website is to change exactly that - to give all that you need (and not a bit more) to make the most out of your Chinese experience. This website focuses on Beijing but much of what written here applies to the rest of China.
