We got to know lush when we first came to Beijing, in late 2005. We used to study Chinese in a small school close to WuDaoKou and we used to go there 2-3 nights a week.

It's a great place, the food is excellent and the drinks are quite cheap. The crowd is mostly foreign students attending the universities nearby.

Our favorite Lush night was and still is open mic night (every Sunday). In 2006/2007 it was crazy and it was so crowded you could barely move and you could forget about getting a seat if you got there after 9:00PM, and there were at least 15 names on the performance list. More recently, apparently, students study much harder or more of them suffer from stage fright and it's not as crowded as it use to be (some of you might find it better that way).

Still, even though we live far away in the city center we still make it to open mic nights, it's worth it. As an Italian and a middle eastern we can say the pasta there is good and also the Hummus and Tzaziki with pitta bread are one of the best that can be found in Beijing.

How to get there
LUSH is located at the south west corner of the main intersection next to WudaoKou railway station at the second floor of a book store called XXXX. See map.
