RiTan Park – 日坛公园 Not as big and popular as HouHai or BeiHai Parks, RiTan Park is the place to go when you seek quiet and tranquility. RiTan Park crowd does not consist of tourists. Most of the people who go there are Beijing residents, local or foreign. Although it's not very big, RiTan Park's got it all: a lake, small restaurants, nice gardens and trails, play ground, little hills with pagodas on top and more. It even has one thing that most parks don't have and that's an outdoor climbing wall. It doesn't cost you anything to get in to RiTan Park but you might find it hard to part with it. It's so quiet and nice there, lying in the sun surrounded by trees, watching the kites flying in the sky, forgetting all your troubles, going back out to the loud city of Beijing is not easy. Directions: RiTan Park is located just outside of the second ring road east, between JianGuoMen and ChaoYangMen. The main gate of Ritan Park is in the south, on guang hua lu (光华路).
