Cabs are very common and popular in Beijing.

The initial figure for every cab ride is 10 yuan by day and 11 yuan by night.
After 3 km the meter adds 1 yuan and, from there on, it will add 2.00 yuan every km by day and 2.4 yuan every km by night.
After 15 km it adds 3 yuan per km.

Most of the taxi drivers in Beijing don't speak English so it's better to have the address of your destination written down in Chinese characters.

Tips

• There are old cabs an new cabs. Not so long ago there was a price difference between them but now they all cost the same so it's better to take a new cab.
• Always take a receipt (fa piao). If you leave something behind this will be you only way to try and find it.
